Johanna was having quite the fun with all the thrills in Drex's mother's closet. It was unbelievable.
One moment she was trying on striking blue boots. The next moment she was wrapping herself up in a fake fur. The colors were just lovely, she thought at she touch gold gowns and precious fabrics. She didn't know this could make her so happy.
Of course, suddenly she thought of Anthony and felt so sad that she practically wept, but not on the clothes, but on the bed where she hugged a huge pillow.
What would he think if he knew? He'd say she was quite pathetic and had no need for him. This was not true. She'd take him over any of this gorgeous mess. It was enticing. But she really needed her Anthony.
Johanna closed her eyes and prayed. She prayed as hard as she could that nothing awful had happened to Anthony. That he knew he could find her. He just knew he could if he kept trying. He had to keep trying. Damn him, he had to keep trying.
Then she felt horrible that she'd used such a term about him. She didn't mean it. She loved him. After all he was the one for her. No more waiting. Not another second. If she could have her Anthony Hope back, she was waiting for nothing, but Anthony. And she just hoped it was soon. Very soon.
